   🐙         💓💓 MY  EXPERIENCE 💓💓           🐙

Appearance & Packaging :

Packaging is not so innovative. It is a plastic tub in which content is there.White plastic tub with blue design and description on it is not so impressive. However,it is not bad.Nivea is a very old brand on which people have trusted from generations. When we ask our mom and grandma, she will tell previously it came as cream in blue tin packaging and a silver foil was there. Now,if you open the current tub there is a silver foil [don't take it as a foil made of silver ;-) ] You have to take it out or tear to get the cream. It can't be said hygienic as you have to use your fingers to dip in it to take out the cream and apply. It can cause infection and growth of germs if the cream gets contaminated.
It is white in color, soft and gentle cream with a very very light pleasant smell. It gets easily absorbed when applied on the skin.It is good for massaging and can be used for small daily facial massage.Suitable in winters for all skin types but is good for very very dry skin in other seasons too. (It depends on the skin type and how sensitive your skin is??! It is recommended to do skin test first before using any product.)

                  WHAT I DISCOVERED ????      🔮🔮🔮

Pros. -----
1). Soft,gentle,light,pleasant smell,soothing
2). Non-greasy  (winters and depending on your skin)
3). Easily gets absorbed
4). Can be used for facial massage at home.
5). Can be applied as body moisturiser
6). Really moisturising
7). Refreshing and rejuvenate the skin
8). Enriched with Vitamin E (good for skin and all types of skin problems)
9). Good for dull skin
10). Keeps the skin hydrated

Cons. -----
1). Packaging is not impressive
2). Packaging tub is not hygenic
3). May appear greasy (for oily skin)
4). Complexion came out a little bit dark (in my case)
5). Not so suitable for very oily skin
6). Skin appears oily just after use
7). Denaturated alcohol* as ingredient can make skin dry later

                              CONCLUSION

You can try it as it is a good mosturizer, light and gentle depending on your skin.It is very good for very dry to normal skin. However, if you have oily skin you can try it if it is non-greasy on your skin and your skin shows no pimple and acne prone symptoms.

Rating - ☆☆☆1/2   3.5/5

        Do  You   Know   ??????

Now being a microbiologist let me tell you about Shelf-life. Many of you are aware of it but for those who doesn't know about it.
Shelf-Life is the length of time for which an item remains usable, fit for consumption, or saleable. In other words we can say it is the time limit in which product can be used safely as stated by companies and using it afterwards can be unsafe to use.So,Shelf-Life is very much significant.
Alcohol for skin ????
Most alcohols are similar to pure alcohol, except they have been mixed with “denaturing” agents or additives. These additives are often liquid petroleum derivatives man-made in the laboratory. So we’re talking about regular alcohol, here, just with some additions, like food with a flavoring.
Some examples include:
Ethanol
Denatured alcohol
Ethyl alcohol
Methanol
Benzyl alcohol
Isopropyl alcohol
SD alcohol
Manufacturers like using these types of alcohols in skin care for several reasons:
Solvents: They work as “solvents” in any formula, which means they help all the other ingredients, soluble giving smooth product.
Astringents: In some products, like toners and cleansers, alcohols are included to help shrink pore size and tighten skin.
Enhance absorption: Alcohols help the skin to better absorb the other ingredients in any formula, so they are used in creams by manufacturers.
Preservatives: Alcohols have germ-killing properties (which is why nurses swab your skin with it before giving you a shot), so they’re sometimes used as a preservative in cosmetic products. We often use it in microbiology lab as cleanser on hands and utensils during process to make germ free.
Fast-drying: You know how regular alcohol gives you that cooling feeling? That’s because it evaporates quickly. Manufacturers like that because it makes things like hairspray fast-drying.
These types of alcohols are
Drying: These alcohols, in general, are drying and irritating to the skin. (Think about how your hands feel after you use hand sanitizer—most of which contain a good amount of alcohol.) They strip away the skin’s natural acid mantle, dehydrating cells and potentially increasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
They’re irritating: According to a 2008 study on ethanol and skin, “Ethanol use is associated with skin irritation or contact dermatitis….” They added that “up-to-date risk assessment of ethanol application on the skin and inside the oral cavity is currently lacking.”
They disrupt barrier function: The skin has a natural barrier that helps seal in moisture and protect from environmental stressors and other damaging elements. Alcohol disrupts this barrier, leaving the skin more vulnerable to attack from irritants, allergens, bacteria, and viruses. In a 2003 study, scientists noted this to be true in doctors who were using alcohol-based cleansers to get germs off their hands. They found that it removed “barrier lipids” (healthy fats in the skin) and caused the skin to lose moisture and hydration. Evidence showed that modern foaming liquid cleansers were the major offender, and that replacing them reduced hand problems among hospital staff.
They may damage skin: Shocking, right? But laboratory tests on skin cells have actually shown that ethanol (alcohol) can be toxic to them. In 2002, for example, researchers treated skin cells with different concentrations of ethanol. They found that ethanol damaged the cells, and may also induce “apoptosis” in skin cells—which means the cells died after exposure. Granted, this is a laboratory study, and the results may be different when tested on living, breathing skin, but the study doesn’t leave us with a fuzzy feeling.
They can make acne worse: Many anti-acne formulations contain alcohol because of its germ-killing ability and the way it helps clear oil from the skin. These temporary benefits, however, aren’t worth the long-term problems. A 2011 study, for example, found that over time, acne formulations with alcohol actually exacerbate the condition, because they cause irritation and dryness. You know how acneic skin acts when it’s overly dry—it just produces more oil, leaving you with a worse problem than you had when you started. (Source - Web)
